ADVANCED PHLEBOTOMY
The Advanced Phlebotomy program provides students with the theory and skills required to practice as a Phlebotomist in hospital, medical office, dialysis, and acute care settings. The curriculum includes classroom/lab/clinical instruction and the content is culminated by an externship at a local hospital to put what the student has learned in theory into application. Teaching methods encompass a variety of strategies, including hands-on practice, discussion, instructional skill videos, computer-aided technology, as well as laboratory instruction.
As a student in the Advanced Phlebotomy program, you will learn how to:
Perform basic phlebotomy procedures, including: drawing blood, proper disposal of needles and containers, maintaining a sterile environment, etc.
Conduct patient interviews and take vital signs
Adhere to the safety standards and ethical practices of a healthcare facility
The Advanced Phlebotomy program prepares students to sit for National Certification examinations. With preparation for this certification and hands-on experience in lab, students in this program gain the knowledge and real-world experience needed to succeed in this career.

Day program (6 weeks): Monday – Friday 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Evening program (8 weeks): Monday – Thursday 5:00 PM-10:00 PM
